Erhu Player\/ Vocalist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kanae Nozawa is a Japanese erhu player and vocalist with extensive experience in recording, touring, live performance, and international collaborative projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January 2007, she became the first Japanese erhu player to make a major label debut. Since then, she has developed a career spanning live performances, album production, and studio recording across multiple genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her recording credits include anime and film soundtracks, as well as participation in music projects for the globally successful Finnish game Clash of Clans<\/a><\/em> by Supercell. She has worked flexibly within diverse production environments, including orchestral works, contemporary music, and cross-genre projects, as a member of professional production teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2014, she has collaborated extensively with Japanese Academy Award-winning composer Tamiya Terashima, producing narrative-driven albums and concert works. Their collaboration has included international performances and large-scale projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2025, she gave the world premiere of Kalevi Aho\u2019s Concerto for Erhu and Chamber Orchestra with the Lapland Chamber Orchestra in Finland. Her international performance record includes concerts in Taiwan, Shanghai, Finland (with annual appearances since 2018), Italy and the UAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to her erhu work, she is also active as an alto vocalist, with a practical vocal range of G2\u2013E5. She works primarily in Japanese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She operates a professional recording environment and is able to record and deliver high-quality tracks remotely. With an efficient production workflow, she is able to accommodate demanding production schedules, including international projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her musical scope spans classical, contemporary, pop, and folk-based projects, and she is experienced in both concert and media production environments.
